We're looking for an experienced Videographer to assist in the creation of high-quality promotional content across both our industry-leading Minecraft Marketplace team and the Essential mod for Minecraft Java!
You'll join a team of passionate Minecraft enthusiasts working to bring our products to life through compelling storytelling, ensuring each video leaves a lasting impression.
What you will do
- Independently produce high-quality gameplay videos and screenshots for both Minecraft Bedrock and Java editions
- Edit polished gameplay videos, trailer and promotional clips to best showcase our content
- Compose compelling gameplay scenes using available in-game environments and assets
- Develop simple visual storyboards and shot plans to guide the production process
- Discover, edit and layer music tracks to support theme, pacing and tone for each video
- Balance audio and add basic sound effects
- Maintain organised footage libraries and capture documentation
- Contribute to daily team meetings, suggesting improvements to other team members’ work, capture tools used and overall workflows
Within 1 month, you will...
- Onboard to team tools and workflows, getting comfortable with our video pipeline
- If not already familiar with both Bedrock and Java editions, begin developing the knowledge on the less familiar version, ensuring you can capture content across both
- Build relationships with the Marketing team to understand how the team operates day to day
- Familiarise yourself with our existing content and the visual standard we strive for
- Begin contributing immediately to smaller social clips and short-form content with support from team members and your team lead
- Participate actively in team meetings, offering feedback during reviews
Within 3 months, you will...
- Take on key marketing beats, producing polished content with limited support
- Showcase a faster asset creation workflow, moving efficiently from start to end of production
- Actively support other team members, contributing to more thorough feedback and guidance
- Reach out independently to other departments outside of Marketing to resolve blockers and keep projects moving forward
- Arrange and coordinate recording sessions with other team members independently
Within 6 months, you will...
- Begin working alongside senior videographers to assist with trailer production and other high-risk assets
- Confidently deliver key marketing beats from start to finish with minimal oversight
- Demonstrate consistent growth in the quality of independent work, always hitting the quality level expected across all assets
- Bring fresh and creative ideas to the team, helping raise the overall quality of our output.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio or showreel of Minecraft-focused video content, demonstrating a high standard of gameplay capture and product showcase. Experience outside of Minecraft is a bonus.
- An understanding of DaVinci Resolve, with experience in other software being a strong advantage.
- A willingness to learn new tools to help aid in the production of assets
- Strong familiarity with at least one of Minecraft’s Java or Bedrock versions, including a solid understanding of the Minecraft community and history that comes with it
- A creative approach to marketing, with the ability to bring fresh ideas that capture attention, alongside further pushing our current marketing efforts
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams outside of your own
